Assist with general workshop activities while completing on the job and classroom-based training.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an Engine Workshop Technician – Apprentice to join our Distribution business in Saskatoon. will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
- Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
- Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
- Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
- Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software Education, Licenses, Certifications: Must have completed Year 2 of Red Seal /Journeyman Certification
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of workshop experience required or basic level knowledge of engine products
Basic mechanical knowledge
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday @ 8am – 4:30pm
