Key responsibilities
Safely and efficiently operate a class 3 vehicle, primarily straight trucks, on designated routes.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to check tires, lights, brakes, and other systems.
Ensure all cargo is properly secured according to safety requirements.
Plan trip logistics and complete routes in a timely and safe manner.
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Maintain communication with supervisors.
Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork, such as bills of lading and delivery receipts.
Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
Operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks) as needed to assist in the loading and unloading of cargo at destination sites.
Requirements
Must possess a valid class 3 driver’s license and provide a clean driver’s abstract upon hire.
1-2 years of commercial driving experience supported by employment references preferred
Air brake endorsement (Z) is required
Must have reliable transportation to report to work location
Completion of secondary school would be considered an asset
Class 1 driver’s license would be considered an asset.
Forklift license would be an asset or willingness to complete employer-provided training
Fluent in English, bilingual French and English would be an asset
Benefits
Stating wage $20.00/hr +overtime @ 1.5 x hourly rate and 4 % vacation pay
