Technical Instructional Design Assistant

Water First is hiring a Technical Instructional Design Assistant to support the Instructional
Design and Delivery (IDD) Department with the development of training and educational
materials. This role contributes to both internal and external program resources, working closely
with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), trainers, and Water First staff. This role reports directly to
the Senior Manager, Instructional Design and Delivery.
Start Date Ideally: May 19, 2026
Work Location: Remote residing anywhere in Canada or hybrid working at home and in
the Water First head office in Creemore, Ontario.
Job Type: Full time temporary 37.5 hours a week, 16-week contract
Salary range: $22/hr

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
● Work alongside members of the Instructional Design and Delivery team to support the
development of training materials
● Help review training materials for clarity, consistency, and alignment with Water First
style and formatting standards
● Apply updates and revisions to learning materials using e-learning and document tools,
with guidance from the team
● Help ensure learning materials are organized, up to date, and ready for training delivery
and distribution
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Qualifications:

● Enjoys collaboration and working in team-based environments
● Effective communicator with an inclusive mindset
● Dependable, adaptable, and open to feedback
● Comfortable working on a computer for extended periods
● Basic computer skills, including Google Suite and Drive
● Basic knowledge of administrative and presentation software (Google Meet, etc.)
Additional Assets:
● Interested in pursuing a career in adult learning, instructional design, education, or
water-related fields
● Pursuing a degree, diploma, or certification in:
● Adult learning design
● Education
● Water science or environmental science
● Experience related to Indigenous Studies, Indigenous Culture, or land- and community
based learning
● Experience collaborating with Indigenous community members
● Leadership, presentation, or facilitation experience
● Relevant experience in environmental monitoring, drinking water, or wastewater
systems
