Summary:
The Team Manager Quality Assurance is responsible for managing the resources of the QA team and ensuring proper QA methodologies are being executed by the team. The individual will analyze project intake forms and business requirements to estimate QA effort on projects. Other responsibilities include staying abreast of testing technology advancements, coaching/mentoring of the team and providing performance feedback via annual performance reviews.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
1. Work closely with direct reports, IS peers and business sponsors to proactively manage resource pools, testing quality, and project timelines to meet business expectations.
Prioritize assignments to meet mandatory and regulatory business initiatives.
Serve as SME when estimating QA effort on projects and large Stories.
Ensure adequate and experienced resources are assigned to deliver on approve projects.
Assist in the management of test environments, troubleshooting and coordinating code deployments.
2. Maintain relationship with project and Agile teams to resolve issues and improve coordination of QA deliverables.
Assess current processes and identify quality improvements and risk mitigation opportunities.
Ensure analysts are on track with project testing timelines or escalate issues affecting timelines when necessary.
Work with the Business to establish a proper UAT process for the different project and Agile teams.
3. Responsible for overseeing the execution of manual & automated functional, integration, regression and performance tests.
Establish quality metrics and measures for tests executed.
Establish the use of Test Case storage tool and enforce its usage.
Encourage the use of test automation and load/performance tools as part of the team’s testing coverage.
Review QA Analyst test plans to ensure proper test strategies and risk mitigation elements.
4. Manage and direct a team of Quality Assurance professionals by providing leadership and ongoing employee development.
Monitor, evaluate and manage day-to-day employee performance, counsel, and find alternatives in the resolution of complex issues.
Manage the annual review process (establish and communicate productivity targets and bonus goals) to provide on-going professional development of staff.
Develop and implement training, career development and action plans to manage/focus on employee development and ensure performance effectiveness.
The Expertise You Bring:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and strong leadership skills.
In-depth understanding of software development life cycles, project execution including software testing practices.
Experience with JIRA, Zephyr, Confluence and Katalon.
Familiar with Fidelity products, processes and business applications.
Knowledge of software configuration and release management methodologies.
Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
We are in search of a candidate with the following:
5-7 years Quality Assurance experience.
2+ years people management or team lead experience.
General understanding of the financial services sector.
University Degree or equivalent work experience
