Tasks:
. Cook and mix rice independently to guarantee safety and taste
. Cut and prepare raw fish and make sure it meets the health standards
. Wash, peel, cut and prepare other ingredients using manual or electrical appliances
. Make, wrap, cut sushi. Pack and display sushi.
. Make party-tray and chicken-don and other food with or without supervision when necessary
. Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
. Handle and store cleaning products when needed
. May receive, unpack and store supplies and ingredients in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
. Sharpen kitchen knives
. May maintain inventory and records
. May perform other related duties as instructed when necessary like supervise kitchen helper.
. For assistant sushi cook, some work needs to be done under supervision
Working environment: Fast-paced environment; Handling heavy loads; Attention to detail; Repetitive tasks; Standing for extended periods; Early Morning, shift on weekend, on Call occasionally.
Requirements: Basic English communication skill; 7 months to less than 1 year related experience is required; Food handler certificate is an asset; Own transportation; Hard-working; Organized; Reliability; Time management
