The Site Floor Installer (NOC73113) is a full-time, permanent position with 40 working hours per week.
Job duties:
• Measure and clean subfloors (such as wood and concrete) to ensure proper installation conditions.
•Read blueprints, floor layout plans and work orders to determine material needs, layout patterns and dimensions.
• Install various flooring materials, such as hardwood, vinyl planks, laminate, carpet, and ceramic tiles.
• Remove old flooring, debris, and existing finishes.
•Use tools such as flooring nailers, power saws, and adhesive spreaders for installations.
•Cut flooring materials to fit around walls, doorways, and other places.
•Installed finishing components like baseboards, transitions, and trim for a clean appearance.
• Clean the finished floor area and inspect for defects or irregularities.
•Report material shortages and installation issues to the site supervisor.
• Coordinate with construction teams, site supervisors, contractors, and other professionals, such as plumbers and electricians, to ensure a seamless workflow.
•Maintain job site cleanliness
•Answer clients’ questions and address their concerns.
Job requirements:
• At least completion of secondary education.
• At least two years of work experience in floor covering installation.
• Strong measurement and math skills for cutting and layout.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Good physical fitness: standing, kneeling, lifting heavy materials.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Completion of a floor covering/installation-related apprenticeship program is a plus, but not mandatory.
