Senior Program Advisor – Mental Health and Addictions Full Time NEW

Objective: 

To take initiative in the design, development, coordination, implementation and analysis of Ontario’s urban Indigenous programs and services and proactively supports Friendship Centres to advance program and service delivery priorities. 

Key Deliverables: 

Undertakes program and policy research, analysis and advocacy on issues related to Friendship Centres towards improving the outcomes for urban Indigenous people. 
Conduct research, needs assessments, and analysis to understand and address the needs, gaps, challenges, and priorities of the Friendship Centres. 
Develop provincial program tools, plans, proposals, and budgets, for programs. 
Participates in the design and development of Indigenous-led, culture-based programs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Program research, analysis, evaluation, performance measurement and reporting (40%): 

Work collaboratively with OFIFC Policy and Engagement teams to conduct research, needs assessments, and engagements with Friendship Centres to understand and address needs, gaps, challenges, and priorities. 
Conducts analysis and evaluation of program activities, service quality, outcomes, and impacts. 
Prepares provincial program impact reports for internal and external stakeholders and the public. 
Establishes and refines program data requirements, performance measuresand reporting. 
Prepares and presents issue analysis, options, and recommendations to management for decision-making, including system-level and sector-specific analyses. 
Support financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring expenditures for internal OFIFC budgets.  

Program planning, design and development (35%): 

Participates in the design and development of Indigenous-led, culture-based programs. 
Proactively identifies program funding opportunities and provide recommendations to generate new funding opportunities. 
Develops provincial program tools, plans, proposals, and budgets. 

Relationships/Partnerships/Communications (25%): 

Delivers program portfolio-related presentations to external audiences as required. 
Leads program portfolio-related internal communications and meeting spaces 
Prepares program communications materials for a variety of audiences  
Maintains and develops relationships with funding agencies and other stakeholders to advance Friendship Centre programming. 
Provides relevant program information and data to other OFIFC workgroups to support policy, research, finance, and training activities.  

Education/Work Experience: 

Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Evaluation, or another relevant discipline. 
3 – 5 years’ experience in program delivery, design, evaluation, and analysis.  
Experience in project management is an asset. 
Experience working within an Indigenous community.

Ability to negotiate concepts in the advancement of organizational objectives.

Hiring Range: $80,000 – $84,400
Full Pay Range: $80,000 – $98,000
