Senior Indigenous Engagement Coordinators Full Time

Overview:
We are seeking applications for full-time Senior Indigenous Engagement Coordinators that will, participate in various large-scale, lineal projects with a focus on overseeing Indigenous engagement and environmental stewardship in Northern British Columbia. This position is ideally based out of our Prince George, Smithers or Terrace office; however, working out of any of our DWB/Chartwell offices will be considered. The ideal Candidate(s) will play a key role in fostering communication, collaboration, and planning with Indigenous communities across the region. As part of our regional team, you will lead the development and delivery of local engagement initiatives, ensuring that engagement strategies, resources, and activities are well-coordinated, effectively integrated, and aligned with both strategic priorities and operational needs.

Job Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities for the Indigenous Coordinator include:
 Assisting Guardian Program initiatives to ensure Indigenous community involvement and support across project area(s).
 Coordinating with Indigenous communities to develop culturally sensitive and environmentally responsible protocols.
 Managing communications and reporting between Land Guardians, owners/proponents, and contractors to ensure compliance and timely resolution of environmental concerns.
 Organizing and overseeing training programs in partnership with Indigenous educational providers to build capacity in safety, fieldwork, and reporting skills.
 Facilitating biannual community engagement events involving Indigenous leadership, elders, and youth.
 Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive community relations.
 Monitoring and reporting on community feedback and concerns to the project team.
 Supporting Indigenous-owned businesses and partnerships to improve program delivery and logistics.

Qualifications & Experience:
 A degree in a related discipline or equivalent related experience.
 A minimum of 6 years’ directly related experience.
 Experience working with Indigenous communities in a resource development, environmental stewardship, or governance capacity will be prioritized.
 Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and experience on large capital project requirements.
 Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
 Ability to manage program logistics, reporting, and safety practices.
 Field experience with training in relevant safety certifications is an asset.

 Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and professional conduct to influence, collaborate with, and build consensus.
 Ability to direct and/or coordinate the work of consultants engaged in related works.
 MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint skills.
 Ability to travel to Indigenous communities and events and lead community meetings and presentations

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $40- $60 per hour; pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position comes with a benefits package and is eligible for our RRSP program.
