– Completion of secondary school
Experience:
– Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program OR 3 to 4 years of related work experience
– Experience in renovation and remodeling work is required
– Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
– Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
– Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
– Demonstrable experience working in extreme cold

Work may require travel to various job sites within Dawson and surrounding areas
Overtime may be required during peak construction periods
Location:
– On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work at heights and with heavy materials
Duties & Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans
Measure, cut, and install wood, steel and other materials for renovation projects
Repair and replace structural elements (floors, walls, roofs, framing)
Install doors, windows, cabinets, drywall, large scale flooring, eavestrough and trim
Work with subcontractors; including levelling, plumbing, siding, electrical, drywalling, septic, finishing work, mechanical, painting, foundations and heavy equipment
Installation of Kitchens and bathrooms
Work on heritage or older buildings, maintaining original features when required
Ensure work complies with Canadian building codes and Yukon regulations
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Prepare job sites and clean up after projects
Handle insulation and weatherproofing (important for Yukon climate)
