Experience:
– Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program OR 3 to 4 years of related work experience
– Experience in renovation and remodeling work is required
– Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
– Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
– Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
– Demonstrable experience working in extreme cold

 Work may require travel to various job sites within Dawson and surrounding areas

Location:
– On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans
 Measure, cut, and install wood, steel and other materials for renovation projects
 Repair and replace structural elements (floors, walls, roofs, framing)
 Install doors, windows, cabinets, drywall, large scale flooring, eavestrough and trim
 Work with subcontractors; including levelling, plumbing, siding, electrical, drywalling, septic, finishing work, mechanical, painting, foundations and heavy equipment
 Installation of Kitchens and bathrooms
 Work on heritage or older buildings, maintaining original features when required
 Ensure work complies with Canadian building codes and Yukon regulations
 Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
 Prepare job sites and clean up after projects
 Handle insulation and weatherproofing (important for Yukon climate)
