Position Summary: The Hitch House is seeking an experienced RV Technician specializing in interior and exterior rebuilds to join our growing service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining a wide range of RV components and systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Duties:
• Inspect, diagnose, repair, test, and maintain motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and other recreational vehicles for proper performance
• Perform interior and exterior structural inspection, tests, repairs, rebuilds, and restorations
• Adjust, repair, replace, and rebuild RV roofs, wall panels, siding, windows, doors, awnings, cabinets, and countertops
• Diagnose and repair water leaks from exterior or RV and plumbing systems
• Perform welding and fabrication using steel and aluminum
• Repair and reseal windshields and exterior fiberglass components
• Remove and reinstall (R&R) roof-mounted air conditioning units
• Remove and reinstall fiberglass fenders
• Conduct plumbing and minor electrical repairs, including steps and mirrors
• Review work orders, and discuss work to be performed with supervisor
• Evaluate repair needs and assist with the determination and preparation of service estimates and repair costs, and advise customers on work to be performed and general condition of equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and documentation
• Ensure proper care and longevity of tools and equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Stay current with industry standards, manufacturer updates, and best practices
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or college, high school or industry courses combined with several years of related work experience or a minimum 3+ years of experience in a hands-on technical or mechanical repair field is required
• Minimum 1-2 years of direct experience working on motorhomes
• Proven experience in interior and exterior RV repairs and rebuilds
• Demonstrated experience performing welding and fabrication using steel and aluminum
• Demonstrated experience repairing windshield and exterior fiberglass components
• Ability to read work orders, technical manuals, and safety documentation
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically capable of performing manual tasks associated with RV repairs
