Real Estate Appraiser Trainee — Yukon & Northwest Territories
Aedis Appraisals is seeking an ambitious Appraiser Trainee to help serve clients throughout the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
This is a rare opportunity to build a professional career in real estate valuation while gaining hands-on experience across some of Canada’s most unique communities and property markets. You will work alongside experienced appraisers, receive training and mentorship, and gradually take on greater responsibility as your skills develop.
Education Requirement
Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of two years of post-secondary education at a recognized college or university.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will assist with residential and commercial real estate appraisals throughout the Yukon and Northwest Territories. The position may involve travel to urban, rural and remote communities.
Responsibilities may include:
Inspecting, measuring and photographing properties
Preparing floor plans and property descriptions
Researching property sales, rents and market trends
Gathering municipal, land-title and assessment information
Communicating respectfully with property owners, clients and community representatives
Assisting with the preparation of professional appraisal reports
Travelling throughout the Yukon and Northwest Territories as required
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a good fit if you:
Have completed at least two years of post-secondary education
Are dependable, organized and comfortable working independently
Have strong written communication, research and analytical skills
Are interested in real estate, finance, construction, land use or community development
Are comfortable travelling and working in northern and remote locations
Have a valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Are confident using computers, mobile applications and digital photography
Want to pursue professional appraisal education and designation
Previous appraisal experience is helpful but not required. Education or experience in real estate, business, finance, economics, construction, planning, Indigenous governance or land administration would be an asset.
