Blackburn Media is currently seeking a creative, high-energy Promotions Coordinator to join its Chatham-Kent group for an 18-month maternity leave contract. In this role, you will lead key brand initiatives, partner with team members to craft engaging promotional campaigns, and build deep connections within our community.
What you’ll Do:
• Work with Sales and Programming to create and deliver a variety of on-air, online, and street level promotions.
• Collaborate with the sales team to create revenue opportunities, including promotion proposals for clients and partners.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and charities.
• Develop and execute on-air and online contests, liaise with contest winners and manage prizing inventory.
• Receive clients/listeners and answer telephones.
• Process incoming/outgoing mail from Canada Post and Couriers
• Planning all on-site broadcast events to ensure effective branding of stations on location.
• Where applicable do on-air cut-ins on location at promotional or station events.
• Attend station and client events as required including set up & tear down of equipment and technical broadcast gear.
• Participate in weekly meetings and brainstorms.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience in Marketing, Events and/or Broadcasting and Media in a professional setting.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite & Google Docs.
• Strong Social Media skills.
• Basic Photoshop or Canva knowledge.
• Previous experience in web content management systems is an asset.
• Valid G Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving abstract.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
• A positive, customer-first mindset with empathy and poise required to navigate interactions with sincerity.
• Must reside in the Chatham-Kent coverage area.
• Legally qualified to work in Canada.
