Plasterer (stucco) Full Time NEW

High Sierra Holdings Ltd. is hiring in the position of Plasterer (stucco) to perform jobs across Calgary and Banff, Alberta.

Wage: $28.85 per hour
Permanent, full-time position, 40-44 hours per week
Shifts: morning, day and weekend
Experience 2 to 3 years

Language: English
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required

Tasks:
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
• Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
• Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
• Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms

Work site environment: heights, outdoors, noisy, dusty
Work setting: residential and commercial sites, renovations, repairs, construction sites
Tools/equipment: must have hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, steel toed boots, safety gloves, and safety vest
Working conditions: Bending, crouching, kneeling; handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg); manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, standing for extensive periods; physically demanding; tight deadlines
