Location: Liverpool, Nova Scotia (South Shore region)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week (Daytime shifts between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. No overtime required.)
Wage: $19.00 per hour
Benefits: 2 weeks of paid vacation per year

Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and highly skilled Home Child Care Provider to care for an infant in our private household located in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. The caregiver will support the child’s daily routines, safety, development, and well-being while maintaining a nurturing, healthy, and structured environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide attentive, safe, and nurturing care for an infant
Assist with feeding, hygiene, diapering, and daily routines
Support breastfeeding routines and infant feeding practices
Follow safe sleep guidelines and maintain consistent sleep routines
Engage the child in age-appropriate developmental and educational activities
Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in the home
Prepare and serve nutritious meals for the child
Perform light housekeeping duties related to child care (washing bottles, child’s laundry, nursery organization)
Monitor, record, and report changes in the child’s well-being and development to parents
Follow household routines and instructions provided by parents
Accompany child to local swimming classes and activities
Requirements
Education
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
Post-secondary education in nursing, child development, or a related field is considered an asset
Experience
Experience with newborn care, breastfeeding support, and infant sleep routines is required (minimum 1 year preferred)
Language Requirements
English (essential)
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work independently in a private household and follow instructions
Strong communication and reporting skills
CPR and First Aid certification required
Absolute confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to swim to assist child during swimming classes
Candidate must be able to reliably commute to the work location in Liverpool, NS
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Work performed in the employer’s private home (non-smoking environment)
Must be comfortable working in a home where parents may occasionally work from home
