Job Title: Metal Roofer Apprentice
Position Overview:
We are hiring Metal Roofer Apprentices (Level 1) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work under experienced journeypersons and supervisors to install architectural sheet metal systems on commercial and residential construction projects while gaining hands-on experience in the trade.

Job Duties:

• Assist journeyperson roofers with the installation, repair, and replacement of metal roofing systems on commercial and residential construction projects.
• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and install metal roofing panels, wall cladding, flashings, coping caps, soffit, fascia, gutters, downspouts, and other sheet metal components.
• Assist with the fabrication and fitting of custom sheet metal roofing pieces in the shop and on site using hand tools and power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and layout instructions under the direction of journeypersons and supervisors.
• Assist with waterproofing and building envelope details.
• Work safely at heights using fall protection equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and other safe access systems in accordance with company policies and WorkSafeBC requirements.
• Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Participating in safety meetings and training.
• Load and unload materials and maintain a clean and organized worksite.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades on site

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate must be physically capable of performing demanding construction work in various weather conditions and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn the roofing and architectural sheet metal trade.

One year previous experience as a metal roofer construction labourer is required, in order to learn terms and materials. ________________________________________
Wage:
$30.00 per hour
• Wage increases may be provided based on performance and progression within the apprenticeship program
