About Stackabl Homes
Stackabl Homes is a leader in prefabricated modular systems, driven by a mission to provide affordable, quality, and eco-friendly housing. We specialize in advanced wood modular technology to create scalable, and sustainable homes. We are deeply committed to partnering with communities to address critical housing needs, particularly with First Nations, by providing innovative and culturally appropriate housing solutions.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and self-motivated Manager to be the founding employee for our new Nanaimo office. This is a unique opportunity to build our presence on Vancouver Island from the ground up.
This strategic role has a dual mandate:
1. To build respectful, authentic, and long-term partnerships with First Nations communities, acting as our primary liaison.
2. To drive general market development across the Island, building relationships with municipalities, developers, and non-profits.
This is a relationship-first role. The primary focus for the first 6-9 months will be on engagement and market mapping to build a strong foundation. We are building a robust pipeline for revenue-generating projects expected to begin in Q2 2026.
Initial 6-Month Goals
– Build Relationships: Establish trust and hold initial listening-focused meetings with a target number of First Nations on Vancouver Island.
Map the Market: Identify and prioritize key potential partners, clients, and influencers across the Island (municipalities, developers, non-profits).
– Develop Pipeline: Nurture a qualified pipeline of 3-5 “first-mover” projects that are well-positioned for proposals by Q2 2026.
– Establish Brand: Represent Stackabl at local events and build our reputation as a credible, long-term community partner.
Key Responsibilities
– Proactively build and maintain trusting, long-term relationships with First Nations leadership, staff, and community members.
– Listen and learn to understand the specific housing priorities, protocols, and goals of each community.
Identify and nurture a pipeline of opportunities across all market segments (Indigenous and non-Indigenous).
– Clearly articulate the value of Stackabl’s wood modular technology to diverse audiences.
– Work independently to manage your schedule, priorities, and our new office space.
– Represent Stackabl Homes at industry events, forums, and community meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
– A “start-up mindset”: resilient, adaptable, and excited by the challenge of building from scratch.
– 5+ years of experience in a role built on long-term relationship management
– 3+ years of direct, proven experience working respectfully and successfully with First Nations in British Columbia.
– A deep understanding of the cultures, protocols, and governance structures of First Nations.
– An exceptional communicator and, most importantly, an active listener.
– Highly self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve strategic goals.
– Must hold a valid BC Driver’s License and be able to travel extensively across Vancouver Island.
Preferred Assets
Lived experience as an Indigenous person; an existing network on Vancouver Island; experience in the housing or construction industry.
Why Join Stackabl?
This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of an innovative start-up. You will have the autonomy to build our brand on the Island and make a tangible, positive impact on communities.
