Job Location: 54314 Range Road 255, St. Albert, AB T8T 0T8 (Work site environment: Outdoors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated; Various locations across Edmonton & St. Albert region)
REQUIREMENTS:
– Languages: English
– Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
– Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in hardscape construction and heavy civil site preparation
– Security & Safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check
– Transportation: Valid driver’s licence required
– Personal Safety: Steel-toed safety boots
NAICS 23 HEAVY LANDSCAPE & HARDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION DUTIES:
– Direct, manage, and supervise landscape construction crews (3 to 4 workers) on civil and residential construction sites.
– Organize, layout, and direct the construction of decks, patios, timber structures, retaining walls, and decorative stone masonry.
– Plan and manage site excavation, grading, sub-base preparation, aggregate compaction, and drainage infrastructure installation.
– Read and interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and site elevations to execute construction projects accurately.
– Plan and estimate materials, labour hours, equipment requirements, and heavy machinery utilization for individual construction contracts.
– Safely operate and supervise crew operation of heavy construction equipment, including Skidsteers, Backhoes, Front End Loaders, Sod Cutters, Chainsaws, and power earthmoving equipment.
– Maintain detailed daily construction logs, equipment maintenance records, quality control reports, and safety compliance forms.
– Requisition required construction materials, safety gear, aggregate, lumber, structural stone, and heavy machinery parts.
– Enforce site safety regulations, perform hazards assessments, resolve technical job-site problems, and maintain high construction productivity standards.
