Diesel engine Field Service Technician (FIFO) Full Time
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for experienced Heavy-duty certified mechanics to join our team on a mining site (Greenstone Gold Mines) in Geraldton, Ontario).
- This is a fly-in fly-out opportunity.
- Camp and travel are provided.
- There is a 5000$ sign on bonus for these positions.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
- Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Coaches on preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs completed by customer employees.
- Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced On-Site Technicians and/or Supervisor.
- Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Heavy duty mechanic journeyman certification is mandatory for these positions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Clean driver’s abstract.
Experience:
- Basic level field service work experience.
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
- Customer service experience.
- Safety focused.
- Open pit mining experience.
- Communication skills are a must.
- Able to work with little to no-supervision.
About the role:
- Position is based out of Geraldton, Ontario, camp based (approx 3h30 hours from Thunder Bay)
- Shift cycle is 14×14 rotation days and nights
- 12-hour shifts
- Work will be predominantly supporting the shovel fleet, including electric shovels.
- Position is safety sensitive.
- Random alcohol and drug testing to be expected on work site.

• A copy of your red seal certification or trade’s diploma is required for this position.
