Temporary Full-Time Position (Two Years – Approximate start July 2026)
Are you passionate about human resources and looking for a hands‑on, generalist role? We’re looking for a Human Resources Advisor who enjoys variety. In this role you will support employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and HR programs – while acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will support BCSC managers with recruitment and disability management activities and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures. You will act as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR‑related matters and employee relations issues.
Key Responsibilities
With support and guidance from the Human Resources Manager, the key responsibilities of the Human Resources Advisor include:
Employee Relations
Serve as a primary point of contact for management and employees, providing advice and guidance on HR‑related matters, programs, and issues, including interpretation and application of HR policies
Support managers with performance management, compensation/classification and attendance‑related issues
Disability Management
Manage the short-term illness and injury plan (STIIP), long-term disability (LTD) and medical accommodation cases and procedures in alignment with WorkSafeBC requirements, human rights accommodation obligations, and other relevant policies and legislation
Recruitment and Selection
Lead full‑cycle recruitment processes for various BCSC divisions on a regular basis
Provide HR advice to managers, candidates, and employees when employee relations questions arise related to recruitment and selection
HR Projects and Programs
Supports the HR manager and/or the CHRO on various HR projects and initiatives
Other Duties
Supports the CHRO and the HR team as needed
Other related duties as required
What You Bring:
Degree in Human Resources or a related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years of recent related experience in a human resources role, preferably in a public sector environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The CPHR designation is an asset.
Practical knowledge of HR theories, practices, and procedures
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to provide timely client services
Good judgment and strong analytical skills

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $76,572 (min) – $95,712 (mid) – $114,855 (high)
The starting salary for this position will be determined considering the successful candidate’s relevant experience and education, salaries of other employees in the same salary range, market conditions and other relevant factors. Starting salaries are normally below the salary band midpoint.
