Position Overview
The Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering all training programs directly in the field. This role requires a hands-on leader who actively works alongside technicians while providing real-time, on-site coaching and training.
This is a field-based, player-coach role—you will train, lead, and perform work on job sites to ensure the highest standards in safety, efficiency, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Site Training & Development (Core Function)
Deliver all training on active job sites (not classroom-based)
Provide real-time coaching, demonstrations, and corrections in the field
Train new hires through structured 3–5 day onboarding programs on-site
Continuously train and develop existing staff during live jobs
Certify technicians through hands-on performance evaluations
2. Field Leadership (Hands-On Role)
Actively work in the field as a technician on a regular basis
Lead crews by example in productivity, safety, and professionalism
Step into jobs as needed to support operations and maintain quality
Demonstrate best practices in real working conditions
3. Technical Training
Train and certify team members in:
Softwashing (residential & commercial buildings)
Custom gutter installation and repair
Siding installation and repair
Pressure washing (concrete, brick, wood)
Painting and staining
Roof repair and installation
Window cleaning (residential and commercial)
4. Safety & Compliance (Field-Focused)
Deliver all safety training on-site, including:
Ladder safety (including 36 ft ladders)
Fall protection systems
Equipment and chemical handling
Ensure compliance with:
Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
Working at Heights requirements
WHMIS standards
Conduct on-site safety audits and corrective coaching
5. Field Coaching & Quality Control
Perform ride-alongs and live job evaluations
Identify performance gaps and correct them in real time
Ensure all work meets company and industry standards
Support Team Leads in maintaining accountability
6. Communication & Sales Training (On-Site Execution)
Train technicians on client communication and professionalism
Coach teams to identify issues and upsell opportunities in real time
Ensure proper use of Jobber CRM in the field
Reinforce client-first service standards
7. Systems & Process Improvement
Build and refine training systems based on real field performance
Develop SOPs aligned with actual job site conditions
Continuously improve efficiency, safety, and quality
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
University degree (an asset)
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
5 years or more of window cleaning experience
Proven hands-on experience in:
Softwashing
Gutter installation/repair
Siding installation/repair
Pressure washing
Painting/staining
Roof repair/installation
Certifications (Required)
Valid Working at Heights Certification (Ontario)
WHMIS Certification
Aerial Lift Certification
Licensing
Valid Ontario driver’s license (minimum G2)
Clean driving record
Technical Requirements
Experience working with ladders up to 36 feet
Strong knowledge of tools, materials, and safety practices
Ability to perform and teach all listed services in real job environments
Additional Requirements
Must be able to pass a Police Background Check
Ability to work independently and lead teams effectively
High level of professionalism when working on client properties

Work Requirements
Ability to perform physical fieldwork daily

Compensation & Benefits
Starting at $37/hour (based on experience)
