Home Care Support Worker Full Time

Job Title: Home Support Worker required urgently

Job Description:
We are looking for a Home Support Worker for our mother who has severe Alzheimer’s.
This is a permanent, full time position for 33.25 hours per week, with flexibility and regular overtime as required including nighttime and weekend shifts

Work location: We currently live at Bradner Road, Abbotsford.

Salary: $ 24.50 – $25.00 per hour paid twice per month

This position is 4 days off 4 days on rotation, to alternate with another full time Home Support Worker, who will work the alternating days.

Must speak English

Duties include:
• Support with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, wardrobe assistance, and preparing nutritious meals.
• Driving to and from grocery shopping, parks and recreation and other outings to keep my mom engaged.
• Provide care and companionship to my mother
• Administer bedside and personal care such as aid in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing
• Plan and prepare meals and special diets, and feed
• Routine health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, assisting in the administration of medications and collecting specimens when required
• Routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds.
(Unless an Emergency this will be done by a family member)

Successful applicants will have

• Completion of post secondary education in health care.
• Minimum 1 year health care experience with adult with Alzheimer’s and memory care.
• First aid certification.
• BC driver’s licence and clean driving abstract
• Clear criminal record check
• Background check and references required.
