1) Provide personal and bedside care, including assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and fall prevention.
2) Plan, prepare, and serve meals, including specialized diets, and assist with feeding when necessary.
3) Perform routine housekeeping, including laundry, bedding, dishwashing, and light cleaning, to maintain a safe and organized environment.
4) Monitor medication intake, adhering to prescribed schedules and ensuring follow-up on renewals, within the scope of non-medical duties permitted for home care aides.
5) Assist with mobility inside and outside the home, including walking assistance, safe transfers, and the use of assistive devices.
6) Provide a reassuring presence and emotional support, including conversation, light cognitive stimulation, and general monitoring of well-being.
7) Perform essential outdoor tasks such as raking, shoveling, and spreading salt to ensure accessibility and safety around the home.
8) Accompany the client on essential outings, including appointments and certain occasional trips within Canada.
9) Implement safety and hygiene measures, including light disinfection and prevention of household hazards, and document important daily routines.
10) Communicate with family members or authorized representatives, as needed, to share relevant observations and
coordinate certain follow-up actions.
