We are seeking experienced and creative Head Bakers to lead our bakery team in producing exceptional baked goods, with a specialized focus on designing and creating pre-ordered cakes for special occasions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cake design, creativity, and attention to detail, alongside strong leadership skills to oversee hiring, training, and daily sales operations. This role requires someone with a passion for baking and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Measure and mix ingredients, knead dough, and monitor baking temperatures to ensure consistency and quality.
• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods such as rolls, danish pastries, crostatas, croissants, scones, and cookies according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Create and design customized cakes for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other special occasions according to client specifications.
• Decorate and finish baked goods with glazes, icings, fillings, or toppings as required.
• Innovate new recipes and designs to keep the product line fresh and exciting.
• Operate baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
• Oversee the preparation of high-quality baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other items, ensuring they meet bakery standards.
• Communicate effectively with other staff and management.
• Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Supervise daily sales operations, including quality control and inventory management, to ensure consistent availability and quality of baked goods.
• Recruit and hire new team members, including bakers and sales staff, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and passion for quality baking.
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills, especially in specialized cake design and decoration techniques.
• Organize records relating to inventory and assist with production management.
• Responsible for tracking the deliveries; ensure that deliveries are fulfilled accurately and on time
• Conduct quality checks on ingredients and finished products.
• Adhere to proper food handling and sanitation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular cleaning of equipment and utensils.
Employment Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school
• 3 to 4 years of experience in commercial bakery or a combination of completion of some college or other program for bakers and experience
• Familiar with various baking equipment
• Ability to safely operate standard foodservice equipment
