About the Role
The Technical Cultivation Associate at Haven Greens is a key member of our Grow team, working directly with hydroponically cultivated baby lettuce to support its efficient, high-quality production in our advanced, fully automated greenhouse facility. Reporting to the Director of Cultivation, this role focuses on hands-on tasks essential to maintaining optimal growth conditions, ensuring crop health, and maximizing productivity. Responsibilities
Crop Management: Perform daily cultivation tasks, including supporting sowing, germination, media removal, harvesting, and nutrient mixing processes according to established protocols.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Conduct pest monitoring and control activities, including scouting for pests, checking and maintaining sticky traps, and documenting pest pressure levels. Assist with implementing biological and preventative pest control measures to maintain a healthy growing environment. Ensure the application of biological inoculates into growing gutters as part of regular crop care.
Monitoring Conditions: Regularly check and maintain growing conditions, ensuring that climate, irrigation, and pest management controls are set for optimal crop health and yield.
Data Collection and Reporting: Record daily metrics on crop performance, environmental conditions, and system functionality; report any irregularities to the Director of Cultivation.
System Maintenance: Support routine maintenance and troubleshooting for greenhouse equipment, including irrigation/fertigation, climate control, and automated cultivation systems.
End-of-Day Cleaning: Perform end-of-day cleaning tasks, including cleaning the sowing line and removing media, to maintain operational cleanliness and readiness for the next production cycle.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Follow established SOPs for cultivation processes and safety protocols, including strict adherence to biosecurity and food safety standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Production, Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Maintenance teams teams to ensure smooth operations and coordination across departments.
Quality Assurance: Participate in daily inspections to assess crop quality, identifying and reporting any issues to ensure all products meet company standards.
