Edde Almond Paste Inc. is seeking an experienced Food Engineer for the position of R&D Manager to support product development, process improvement, technical operations, and manufacturing optimization within the food production environment. The position is permanent.
The successful candidate will contribute to research and development activities, production efficiency, quality improvement, and continuous innovation initiatives while supporting technical decision-making related to manufacturing systems and equipment investments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead research and development projects for food products
• Develop and improve product formulations and manufacturing processes
• Conduct product testing, evaluations, and technical analysis
• Support production efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure product consistency and quality standards
• Analyze raw materials and ingredient functionality
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports
• Assist in troubleshooting production and processing issues
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
• Participate in product scale-up and commercialization activities
• Lead or participate in international equipment sourcing activities when required
• Travel internationally to evaluate manufacturing equipment and production technologies on-site
• Provide technical evaluation and decision-making support regarding machinery, production systems, and process investments
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering (required)
• Extensive industry experience in food manufacturing, food processing, or food product development (15+ years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of food processing and manufacturing systems
• Experience in research and development, process optimization, and quality improvement
• Strong technical analysis and decision-making abilities
• Ability to evaluate industrial production equipment and manufacturing technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in industrial food production environments
• Leadership or project coordination experience
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety systems
