Suncoast Seafood is seeking Fish Processing Supervisors for its seasonal lobster processing operation in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick.
The successful candidates will:
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of workers involved in lobster processing, grading, packing, weighing, labelling and related production activities.
• Establish work methods to meet daily production schedules and coordinate activities with quality control, sanitation, maintenance, shipping and management.
• Monitor product flow, employee performance, workplace organization and compliance with company procedures.
• Train workers in job duties, hygiene practices, safety procedures, personal protective equipment and company policies.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality and production efficiency.
• Requisition materials and supplies required for production, including packaging, labels, tools and processing supplies.
• Prepare or assist with production records, attendance information and operational reports.
• Report product, equipment, staffing or sanitation issues to management.
• Support a safe, respectful and productive work environment.
Requirements
• Secondary school completion or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Experience in fish, seafood, food or beverage processing is required.
• Previous lead hand, line leader or supervisory experience in a processing environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in a cold, wet, noisy and fast-paced seafood processing environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks when required.
• Reliability, teamwork, attention to detail and good communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, HACCP or GMP procedures is an asset. Training will be provided.
Work site environment
Cold/refrigerated, wet/damp, noisy, odours, fast-paced production environment.
Hours: 30 to 60 hours per week

Schedule: Early morning, morning, day, evening, night, weekend, shift work, on call, overtime required and overtime available
