The Saskatchewan Indigenous Community Foundation (SICF) invites Indigenous leaders to consider stepping into a foundational leadership role at a pivotal moment in our journey.
SICF is building a trusted Indigenous-led foundation that stands with Indigenous peoples across Saskatchewan, listening, learning, and acting with care and accountability. We are committed to community-defined priorities, Indigenous governance, and long-term wellbeing. Our work is relationship-based and grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. We are growing deliberately, ensuring that trust is never compromised by pace.
Over the past year, the Board has laid important groundwork. A five-year strategic plan is in place. Governance structures and financial policies have been established. Early partnerships are forming. The foundation is now ready for its first Executive Director – a leader who will carry this vision forward and help shape the next chapter.
This role is not about managing a mature institution. It is about building one thoughtfully and responsibly. It requires someone who is grounded in Indigenous values, relational, and steady in leadership. It requires someone who understands that supporting Indigenous peoples is not only about moving resources; it is about strengthening governance, nurturing trust, and advancing long-term self-determination.
We recognize that Indigenous leadership pathways are diverse. Many leaders arrive at this work through community, governance, grassroots organizing, nonprofit leadership, public service, or other systems. If you are ready to help build an Indigenous-led organization that will serve our peoples for generations, we invite you to consider this role.
A detailed Candidate Profile outlining responsibilities, competencies, and compensation is available at: https://sicf.ca/
Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous candidates.
