ROLE:
We are looking for a professional Executive Chef, to create creative menu design. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.
Tasks
Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
Create new recipes
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
2-5 years experience as kitchen lead/manager
Instruction of cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations, staying solution oriented
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years or equivalent experience
