Job Duties:
1. Assist in planning, assessing, and implementing appropriate activities and experiences that promote the well-being of each child and that respect and reflect the diverse needs and interests of children.
2. Carry out daily schedules incorporating child-directed activity, care routines and transition times; create a positive social environment that promotes sharing, cooperation, problem-solving, and respect.
3. Engage children in playtime, reading hours, art projects, and various learning sessions, helping them discover new interests in art, music, sports, and other potential fields.
4. Assist with guiding children’s daily behaviours, including establishing proper life habits.
5. Help prepare meals and snacks, and assist in handing out food and beverage items; lead the children to clean up trays, cups and the eating area after every meal.
6. Ensure that the facility is organized and sanitized (where appropriate, sweep the floor, vacuum the carpet, wipe tables, put away craft and recreational supplies, and clean the kitchen).
7. Assist in daily observation of children’s activities, submit reports on progress, behaviours and other issues, and maintain required records and statistics.
8. Involve in coordinating and maintaining relationships with families, ensuring positive communication with parent(s)/legal guardian(s).
9. Attend and participate in regular staff meetings, and contribute to discussions on program practices and improvements.
Qualifications:
1. Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
2. Previous work experience in a similar environment.
3. Independent and proactive thinker.
4. Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Compassionate and dedicated to early childhood education.
6. Knowledge of group process and facilitation techniques.
7. The ability to assist in planning and implementing programs for 2.5 to 5-year-old children in accordance with company policy and procedures.
