Position is for an Early Childhood Educator working with children between the ages of 12 months and 6 years.
Duties:
– Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 12 months to 6 years
– Create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and growth
– Provide individualized attention and support to meet the needs of each child
– Collaborate with other Educators to create a cohesive and engaging activities
– Monitor and assess children’s progress, documenting observations and maintaining records
– Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child’s development and progress
– Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
– Supervise group activities and ensure the health, safety, and development of children
– Direct and discipline children in a consistent manner that maintains the child’s self esteem
-Take part in daily cleaning of facilities and weekly responsibilities of cleaning toys, laundry, mats and cubbies
– Report injuries on the accident report form. Keep guardians informed of any injuries sustained by their child throughout the day
– Knowledge of licensing regulations
– Participate in staff meetings and professional development training program
– Maintain First Aid Certification
Qualifications:
– Early Childhood Education Level 1 (child development assistant)
– Must be 18 years or older to be eligible for hire under requirements of the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Regulations
– 3 years to less than 5 years experience with children aged 12 months to six years
– First Aid and CPR Certification
– Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
– Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
– Ability to effectively educate and engage young children in learning activities
– Excellent time management and organizational skills
