We are now in search professional drywall installers who can work well in a team and who have strong ability to adapt and pay close attention to details. In this position you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing drywall panels in various construction projects. You will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Measure, cut, fit, and fasten drywalls.
• Set up interior and exterior site protection
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Smooth out excess material and imperfections and allow coat to dry
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Fill joints in-between drywalls with spackle by using trowels
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
Position Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school
• A combination of over three years of work experience and some high school, college or industry courses in drywalling OR minimum 3-yearapprenticeship program in drywalling
• Knowledge of all aspects of drywall installation and finishing
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
Your Skills:
• Able to work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Able to perform physical activities such as bending, crouching, kneeling for extended periods of time
• Able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
