We are a young but full-scale driving school in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As recommended by our clients, we are “one of the best driving schools in Halifax and across Nova Scotia”. We provide complete class courses and road instruction approved by the Nova Scotia government. Having an experienced team of driving instructors with as long as 19 years of professional expertise in driving teaching, all of whom hold licensing required by the province of Nova Scotia, we can cater to our clients’ needs highly professionally.
We are looking for a driving instructor to join our team.
Job duties:
Teach student drivers vehicle driving. Instruct how to operate regular vehicles and prepare them for driver’s tests in order for them to develop driving abilities and safe, responsible driving habits.
1. Prepare and deliver lessons tailored to individual student drivers’ needs; Instruct individuals on proper motor vehicle driving skills and practical skills related to all
aspects of driving;
2. Instruct student drivers on-the-road traffic rules and regulations, and safety driving procedures;
3. Make teaching and learning record, pinpoint individual students’ weak points and adjust or revise teaching plans accordingly;
4. Inform student drivers when they are ready and prepare them for road tests;
5. Instruct student drivers (in a friendly and patient way) on vehicle parts and functions; Demonstrate and explain the handling and mechanical operation of motor
vehicles.
6. Supervise individuals during practice driving.
Identify quickly when a student needs help, or is nervous, confused, stressed or distracted and be able to provide whatever is necessary to improve the situation;
Help student drivers to develop confidence, calm driving skills, gain control of the vehicle during emergency situations; Clarify the differences in traffic regulations
between different countries and correct student drivers’ unhealthy habits in order to comply the Canadian rules.
Work hours: full time, 30-48 hours/week. Early momrning, evening, weekend, on-call, shift.
Compensation and benefits: 22/hour; bi-weekly payment; all lawful provincial and federal regulated benefit programs; 14 business days of vacation time per annum
Requirements:
• Driver’s License: Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license, and valid Nova Scotia Driving Instructor’s license
• Clear driving record
• Clear criminal record
• 1-less than 7 months experience is required
• College+ education is required
