Position: Diamond Driller Assistant
Start Date: September 1, 2026
Job Type: Permanent Full-time / 10 available positions.
Work for one of the largest drilling companies internationally, supplying services to the mining and geological exploration industries!
Primary responsibilities include:
Assist Driller with all rod tripping operations.
Ensure necessary equipment is clean, serviceable, and readily available when required, including inner tube/hammer assemblies.
Empty sample into core trays/sample bags.
Ensure samples are clean, well-presented and correctly marked.
Monitor fuel status and maintain fuel/oil level requirements of the drilling rig and associated ancillary equipment, including water pumps, heaters, and lighting plants.
Ensure adequate and correct grades of lubricating compounds are always available at the rig.
Consistently pursue performance and high-quality work by executing tasks effectively in a manner that will not endanger self or others, or the environment.
Perform assigned duties following all applicable legislation, company policies and safe work procedures.
Positively influence activities of a safe, productive, and cost-efficient diamond drill operation.
Complete within capabilities, limited mechanical maintenance of rig and ancillary down hole equipment.
Qualifications/Education:
• Experience in an exploration and mining environment considered an asset.
• Common Core modules considered an asset.
• Tolerance for stress, with ability to work under pressure and handle antagonism.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team environment, while working together to meet organizational goals.
• Ability to operate with little supervision.
• Able to work long hours and shift work for extended periods (10-12 hrs/day, alternating days and nights, camp setting, rotations).
• Physically fit, capable of heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract.
• Able to travel, work long hours & shift work for extended periods (camp setting)
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
• Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
Applicants must possess a work history that highlights the following combination of skills and experience: Previous experience in the diamond drill industry is an asset. Preferred candidates will be self-motivated, have strong communication and problem-solving skills, be well-organized, work well with others and be interested in making a change.
On-the-job training is provided.
Wages: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour.
Hours: 12-hour shifts, for 28 days straight, followed by 14 days off.
