Project Manager – Building Renovation & Lifecycle Full Time Permanent

As the Project Manager – Building Renovation & Lifecycle, you will report to the Senior Operations Manager and be responsible for managing and executing healthcare infrastructure projects within a hospital environment. This role requires project management expertise, strong communication with internal teams and external contractors, and a firm understanding of healthcare standards such as IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control).

You will oversee renovations, upgrades, and lifecycle projects—including managing subcontractors, coordinating with cleaning and operational teams, and ensuring safety and compliance are upheld throughout project execution. Experience with P3 (Public-Private Partnership) environments and lifecycle budget management (e.g., boiler replacement, fixture upgrades) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery in an active hospital setting, adhering to IPAC standards and minimizing disruption to healthcare operations
• Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules and budgets
• Document project scope, before/after progress photos, and communicate scope changes to the client promptly
• Handle all change orders, including negotiation, cost/schedule impact assessment, and implementation
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams, including Environmental Services, for safe execution
• Conduct quarterly documentation audits across departments; lead corrective actions for compliance
• Manage contracts for non-FM operational service providers (including renewal timelines and vendor alternatives)
• Support bid development for new business opportunities in the Northwest Territories
• Facilitate department-level strategic initiatives in partnership with department managers
• Delegate tasks across cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality project execution

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in project management or a related field
• 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in healthcare or complex facility environments
• Experience working in environments such as hospitals, including awareness of infection control protocols
• Familiarity with P3 contracts and lifecycle infrastructure planning
• Strong proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio
• PMP certification is considered an asset
• Effective communication skills with a proactive approach to client and stakeholder management
• Experience working with all levels of government is preferred
