Prep Cook / Baker Part Time

As a Prep Cook / Baker, reporting to the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the proper and timely preparation of food product and meals for food service and preparing baking goods to the highest standards of Tim Horton.

Your work will include:

• Planning, preparing, presenting, and serving high quality menus in accordance to season, budget and promotional guidelines.
• Ensuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints
• Preparing and baking goods 
• Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods
• Be able to get products from walk-in freezers, operate oven & decorate donuts and other products according to standards.
• Operate oven/egg cooker and prepare baked products as assigned (including muffins, donuts, breads, eggs, meats etc …)
• Prepare toppings, ingredients and required products for all baked good / food items.
• Complete Tim Horton training modules
• Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Safe Food Handling/Health Unit regulations.
• Always maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and food storage areas.
• Maintain inventory, ordering and proficient management of food/stock products.
• Maintain accurate, signed H&S records as required.
• Adhere to all relevant Dexterra and hospital policies and procedures.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Available Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
• Be able to work early morning starting shifts (ie 6 am start)
• Previous experience working in a Tim Horton’s or another fast paced food service establishment an asset.
• You have at least 1 year experience as a cook in Food Service preparation cooking from ‘scratch.’
• You have current/valid food safety certification

Physical Demands:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in cold environment (ie walk-in freezer, walk-in fridge)
• Climb ladders or stairs.
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.
• Work with arms above shoulder height.
