Cost Estimator Full Time

Martushev Logging LTD is looking for one (1) Cost Estimator to join our expanding team in Edmonton, Alberta! This position is a full-time permanent position.
Job duties:
• Cost Estimation: Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, equipment, and
subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic
drawings, and specifications.
• Tendering Support: Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders,
recommend tender awards, and conduct negotiations with suppliers and contractors.
• Tendering Process Management: Establish and maintain a tendering process to ensure
consistency, accuracy, and transparency in all project bids.
• Cost Monitoring & Reporting: Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
to ensure financial control throughout the project’s lifecycle.
• Expenditure Forecasting: Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular
intervals for the duration of the project, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
• Supplier & Contractor Management: Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers,
contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring strong relationships and competitive pricing.
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects,
owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are properly
coordinated.
• Economic Feasibility Studies: Prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and
adjustments to cost estimates, assessing their impact on project scope and budgets.
• Risk Management: Identify risks early in the project and ensure that all contractual
requirements are plausible and aligned with Martushev’s operational capabilities.
Education and experience requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of a relevant degree/ diploma or equivalent experience is required
• 1-2 years of direct estimation experience required
Compensation:
$40.87 per hour for 30-40 hours per week.
