Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of professional cooking experience, including experience preparing authentic Greek cuisine from scratch
Work site environment: Non-smoking
Work Setting: Restaurant, Bar, Urban Area, Bistro
Responsibilities
Tasks:
• Plan Greek menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
• Order supplies and equipment
• Maintain inventory and records of Greek food, supplies and equipment
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Prepare and cook complete Greek meals or individual dishes and foods such as:
o Pastitsio & Spanakopita & Fakes
o Greek grilled meats and seafood
o Traditional sauces (Taramosalata, Kopanisti, Tzatziki)
o Other Greek specialities
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of Greek food
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Prepare all Greek dishes from scratch using traditional methods
• Follow and protect the restaurant’s proprietary Greek recipes, preparation methods, and ingredient ratios, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all recipe details.
• Estimate food requirements for Greek menu execution
