Zapoteca Mexican Grill & Seafood is looking for kitchen staff and some talented personalities for our back of house team. Bring your best attitude and positive energy to our culinary destination on the iconic White Rock beachfront.
Position: Line Cook
Duties
• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years in full-service restaurant. Previous experience in preparing Mexican traditional foods would be an advantage.
• Ability to work quickly and handle high volumes
• Ability to communicate in English. Fluent spoken and written Spanish is also an asset but not required.
• High school or equivalent
• Food safety certification (required)
• Must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs frequently and work in a warm and noisy environment.
Salary & Benefits
• $23 / Hour
• Minimum 30 hours per week
• 4% vacation pay, and gratuities
• Permanent – Full-time position
