Experience and Skills Required: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of culinary experience is essential. Proficiency in preparing Korela Poratta, Malabar dum biryani, and traditional Korela cuisine is an asset.
Must be able to work under pressure, client focus, flexible, organize, reliable, able to stand for extended periods, show initiative, have excellent organizational skills, and be a team player.
strong communication skills. College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years preferred as required education.
Job Duties: Co-ordinate special events, Determine the size of food portions and costs, Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization, Requisition food and kitchen supplies, Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, Inspect kitchens and food service areas, Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, Order supplies and equipment, Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, Clean kitchen and work areas, Recruit and hire staff, Manage kitchen operations.
Wages: Starting at $29.00 per hour; working 35 hours per week (Days, Mornings, Evenings, Nights and weekends).
