Responsibilities:Tasks: Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations
Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery
Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
Clean and maintain work space
Check and monitor product quality
Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
Ensure that process steps are carried out according to specifications
Maintain quality control and production records
Communicate technical problems, processes and solutions
Equipment and machinery experience: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation
Valid driver’s licence
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity
Attention to detail
Hand-eye co-ordination
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Steel-toed safety boots are required
Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication
