JOB DUTIES:
• Prepare patients for dental examination and assist the dentist during examinations and dental treatments
• Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment
• Prepare dental instruments, fillings compound and various dental materials
• Take and develop X-rays
• Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant
• Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts
• Educate patients concerning oral hygiene
• Perform clerical duties such as prepare invoices, process payments, schedule patient appointments, record dental procedures performed and order dental and office supplies
• May perform intra-oral duties such as remove sutures, take and record vital signs, apply desensitizing agents, topical anaesthetic, anticariogenic agents and coronal whitening, fabricate, place, and remove temporary crowns and restorations, and apply and remove rubber dams
• May also perform pulp vitality testing as well as periodontal screening and recording.
Additional Job Duty #1 – Canadian Dental Anesthesia Assistant Course (CDAAC) training – specializing in providing perioperative and operative support for patients undergoing minimal, moderate, or deep sedation/general anesthesia in dental settings. Your primary focus is on patient monitoring, safety, and emergency response during procedures.
Key Additional Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Pre-operative Care:
o Reviewing patient health history for factors that may complicate sedation.
o Preparing the treatment room, including anesthesia equipment, suction, and emergency kits.
o Obtaining and recording baseline vital signs.
• Intra-operative Monitoring (Sedation Focus):
o Monitoring patient vitals throughout the procedure.
o Assisting with IV sedation and anesthesia monitoring.
o Supporting the dentist with airway management and monitoring for adverse reactions (e.g., hypoxia, hypotension).
o Anticipating the dentist’s needs during complex surgical procedures.
• Post-operative Care & Emergency Response:
o Monitoring patients during the recovery phase.
o Recognizing and managing emergency situations, including acting to rescue patients if sedation becomes deeper than intended.
o Providing post-operative instructions to patients/caregivers.
Additional Skills: Expertise in anesthesia monitoring, emergency care, attention to detail, and ability to handle high-stress situations.
Additional Job Duty #2 – Digital Technology
Applicant must be familiar with CADCAM software for designing models and night guards This includes knowledge for fundamental 3D printing and design, including
• Scanning on Trio 5
• Scanning on Medit i700
• Digital design on CAD CAM, SprintRay software and Medit software, including tier 1 troubleshoot and solutions
• Knowledge of RayWare Clotu and Desktop
• Knowledge of selection of 3D printing resins for varios applications, designs and final products.
• Knowledge of Pro 2 3D Printer, Nanocure, ProWashS and ProCure 2

Skills requirements:
