Job Summary
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Building Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and safety of Probus’ warehouse facility. This role supervises Preventive Maintenance programs, maintenance workers, repairs and facility layout changes. The successful candidate possesses technical knowledge in identifying requirements and working with various contractors and subcontractors to ensure MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and Building is kept to satisfactory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify major repairs and obtain quotes from multiple skilled trade professionals
• Schedule and Supervise labourers, custodians, maintenance technicians and contractors of skilled trades such as Roofers, Racking installers, HVAC technicians, Plumbers, Electricians, Truck mechanics, MHE repair, Pest control services and others
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and quality
• Make purchases of products for general upkeep, materials and supplies
• Manage relationships with contractors, external repair shops, parts suppliers, and leasing companies
• Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
• Prepare progress reports for senior management
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Qualify vendors and trade professionals
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Exceptional leadership skills to oversee teams and resolve challenges.
• Excellent communication (oral and written).
• Excellent Project Management skills
• Proficient computer skills especially in Microsoft Excel and Word
• General knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Ontario Building Code.
• Strategic Thinker and Problem – Solving ability, capable of working in a fast-paced/high – demand environment with time – sensitive deadlines.

• Consistent physical activity efforts necessary to perform the job – walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 10 kg (non repetitive)
Experience:
• Must have 2-3 years of maintenance or equivalent experience
Education:
• Secondary School or similar relevant experience
Job Type:Full-Time (35 hours per week), Permanent
