We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Assistant F&B Manager to join our team. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager contributes to the overall success of the hotel by assisting with leading and managing the property’s food & beverage operations in alignment with Coast Hotels’ long-term strategy. This position will ensure the continued growth and development of the food and beverage team and maximize customer service and profitability for the food and beverage outlets and the catering department.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the hotel and food or beverage service
• Communicates and monitors company policies and practices and how they relate to Food & Beverage; establishes and communicates clear objectives, targets, and operational quality standards
• Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule of food and beverage staff
• Collaborate with other Managers, Supervisors, and Ambassadors to identify and analyze business requirements and the implications for the team; identify gaps and implements agreed upon solutions
• Reviews departmental plan and performance on a quarterly basis to identify areas for improvement
• Considers the product/service delivered and maintaining the product/service relative to the Coast brand and image
• Attends industry and/or professional events or conferences to maintain industry/professional knowledge and network with industry peers
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality and to enhanced business performance
• Monitor and control costs, including labor, inventory, and waste
• Monitor the quality of work and provide feedback on the degree to which operational standards are met, i.e. food safety regulations, and Serving it Right standards
• Resolves guest service issues and identifies potential barriers to guest services
Employment requirements:
• College degree or diploma in hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 1 year of experience in restaurant and catering function, preferably with supervisory experience
Your Skills:
• Industry-specific certificates or willingness to obtain before the employment start date
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Excellent communication, specifically written and oral English, and customer service skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to support the building of strong relationships with diverse groups of people
• Menu creation and costing skills
• Excellent knowledge of food and food trends
