Position Overview
The BCSC is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our Adviser/IFM Compliance team. The Administrative Assistant has a critical role in the organization and administration of all functions in the Adviser/IFM Compliance branch.

Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
Directs day-to-day administration duties for the Adviser/IFM Compliance branch
Monitors, records, and directs registrant filings to the appropriate Compliance Analyst
Drafts routine compliance orders and correspondence to registered firms
Proofreads and formats draft documents provided by the Compliance Analysts to be consistent with plain language guidelines
Maintains the branch’s records in accordance with the Commission’s records retention policy, and works with the Compliance Analysts to improving the team’s recordkeeping procedures
Records certain information from financial filings in Excel and other Commission proprietary databases and conducts reconciliations of data as required
Performs initial review of financial filings for completeness and adequacy based on a checklist
Assists Compliance Analysts in planning and preparation of their compliance exams and preparing presentations
Provides back-up to other divisional administrative assistants, and may assist in preparing and managing other filings and reports as needed.
Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
Secondary School graduation and a minimum of four year’s administrative assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Ability to proof read a large volume of written material and produce high quality and accurate documents
Ability to work with, and organize, a large volume of records workload
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Technical experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDFs
Basic financial or accounting knowledge is an asset

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $54,153 (minimum) – $63,710 (midpoint) – $73,267 (maximum).
The starting salary for this position will be determined considering the successful candidate’s relevant experience and education, salaries of other employees in the same salary range, market conditions, and other relevant factors. Starting salaries are normally below the salary band midpoint.
