– Bookkeeping and Payroll Processing (25%): Managing full-cycle bookkeeping for assigned clients using cloud-based tools (QuickBooks Online, Dext, Plooto). Includes payroll setup, processing, and year-end reporting (T4s, RL-1s).
– Client Communication and Support (20%): Communicating with clients to collect documentation, resolve issues, and provide support related to bookkeeping, payroll, and tax matters.
– Corporate and Personal Tax Preparation (30%): Preparation and filing of T2 corporate tax returns, T1 personal tax returns, and GST/HST/QST filings, including reconciliation of tax accounts and supporting documentation.
– Training and Supervision of Junior Staff (10%): Assisting with onboarding and training of junior team members, reviewing their work, and providing ongoing guidance to ensure quality and consistency.
– Process Optimization and Technology Integration (10%): Identifying areas to improve internal processes, automate recurring tasks, and integrate technology solutions to increase efficiency.
– Administrative and Other Tasks (5%): Participating in internal meetings, documentation, time tracking, and ad-hoc firm initiatives.
The position is full-time – 40 hours a week and may require overtime in periods of rush.
The position requires own transportation means, computer, printer and internet access.
The work environment is hybrid (home and external office to meet clients).
