Accounting Assistant/Technician Full Time

Position – Accounting Assistant / Technician

We are seeking of a dedicated Accounting Assistant (Technician) to be a part of our Finance team. The candidate should exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating in professional and courteous manner with team members, clients and vendors

Job Responsibilities and Duties include:
– Prepare weekly payment runs and emergency one-offs
– Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims
– Act as the first line of contact with vendors
– Reconcile credit card activity
– Verify account codes for proper GL allocation and signature evidence for proper expense authorization
– Maintain schedules and prepare month end entries for various expenditures
– Prepare HST returns
– Ensure accurate processing of monthly remittances
– Reconcile accounts receivable balances and activity between operational and accounting systems
– Field client phone calls pertaining to payments and inquiries regarding their account
– Process client payments
– Ad hoc requests from team members, clients and other departments
– Produce monthly accounting reports
– Complete month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
– Prepare and maintain working papers
– Take part in Ad hoc projects and tasks, perform administrative duties as required and assist in audit inquiries
Minimum requirements
– Post-secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or another related field
– 2 years experience in A/P, A/R and general bookkeeping
Technical Skills:
– Proficient in Sage 300, QuickBooks, Xero & AP software, HST
– Advanced Excell skills, strong organizational skills
– Proficient in MS Office

Hours of Work & Remuneration
Wage (hourly): $26.75/hr exclusive of benefits
Hours: Full time, approximately 38.5 hours per week
