Machine Operators keep the production line running by setting up, operating, and maintaining plastic-processing equipment. You’ll monitor the quality of molded parts, adjust machines as needed, and make sure materials move smoothly through the system.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operate and monitor injection-molding, extrusion, or thermoforming machines
Load raw plastic pellets or resins and ensure consistent feed
Inspect molded parts for defects, colour consistency, and measurements
Perform minor machine adjustments and changeovers
Record production data and report issues to supervisors
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following WHMIS and company safety procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to lift 20–30 kg and work on your feet for long periods
Experience in plastics or manufacturing an asset but not required—many employers provide on-the-job training
