You will maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment used in food processing plants. You keep machines running, reduce downtime, and ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic controls, motors, drives (VFDs), PLCs, sensors, and control panels
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to avoid unplanned shutdowns
Diagnose faults and perform corrective repair work
Calibrate and program control systems
Ensure all work meets safety codes, food-grade standards, and plant policies
Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation
Support installation of new equipment and upgrades
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams
Qualifications & Requirements
Certification as an Industrial Electrician (e.g. 442A) or equivalent
Journeyperson or Red Seal status often required
Several years (2–5+) in industrial or manufacturing electrical work preferred
Strong experience with PLCs, VFDs, automation, control logic
Ability to work on 24V to medium/high-voltage systems (up to ~575V)
Competence in safety codes, electrical codes, lockout-tagout practices
Good troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
