The West Moberly First Nations is located a 35 minutes drive/40 kms northwest of Chetwynd, BC at the west end of Moberly Lake. The area is surrounded by the lake and rivers, trees and mountains. Our early childcare program focuses on holistic child development with special attention towards our culture and Aboriginal traditions. Our philosophy is to support healthy child development in the areas of physical, social, emotional, intellectual, language and spiritual growth.
About the position
Responsible for the leadership of the center, this position is seeking a qualified, energetic and passionate Early Childhood Educator to supervise our established Multi Age Care program for children 0-5 years. This leadership position is responsible for:

Supervise DYC Assistant(s), Contracts & Casual Staff – 50% of Role
Administer DYC Programs – 50% of Role
Fiscal Management of Programs
The Successful Candidate
We are looking for someone special, who is an experienced childhood educator, with at least 1 year’s experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting, along with strong administrative and management skills. You will preferably have experience working in a First Nations community with knowledge of cultural practices or a keen interest in the culture.
You have a zest for play-based learning, outdoor education and working knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework.
Your toolkit will bring:
· Self motivation with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· A positive outlook on work and life balance and can put a plan together that ensures objectives are met.
· An engaging style who works well as part of a team and is also able to work independently.
· Administrative, Microsoft Office and budgeting skills, etc.
· Valid ECE Certificate or Diploma.
· Valid Childcare First Aid/CPR.
· Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.
· Up to date record of immunizations & tuberculosis.
· Comply to Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector.
What We Offer
An opportunity to work and live in a beautiful community, with a Northern Living Allowance. The successful candidate could live at the lake, in Chetwynd or Hudson Hope areas.
Full time employment, 70 hours every 2 weeks, Monday to Friday (every second Friday off), along with a comprehensive salary, RRSP program and benefits package.
