About the role :
Join the Office of the Chief Information Officer team, where we lead our digital transformation in improving data quality and integrity to accelerate housing affordability. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance systems and practices. You will also help the organization realize the full value of its structured data assets and evolve the corporate data-operating model to address the safe, effective and efficient sharing of data across CMHC.
What you’ll do:  
Lead the documentation and validation of functional and non-functional business requirements for multiple data management and data governance projects.
Execute user acceptance testing to ensure quality controls and objectives have been met.
Lead the execution of enhancements, changes, and fixes to data governance and data management platforms and the integration of business systems, in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Lead the documentation of various data governance processes, including developing related guidelines and templates.
Develop, implement and monitor adherence to data governance policies, standards, rules, etc.
Provide data support and training to business stakeholders on new capabilities and processes.
Responsible for development & production of metrics and reports that provide insight into the health of the data governance application.
What you should have: 
An Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field such as computer science, analytics and engineering
A minimum of five years experience working experience in related positions with Data Governance responsibilities or withing Data Technology with increasing responsibilities.
Familiarity and experience working with Data Governance platforms (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, Purview, etc.)
Strong knowledge of data governance (e.g. metadata, governance operating models, stewardship, lineage).
A minimum 2 years experience in programming in either SQL or Python and building reports in PowerBI.
Experience documenting user guides and procedures.
A strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical and systems thinking.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
It would be great if you also had:
A collibra Ranger certification and an ability to develop workflows and automate processes in Collibra
Experience programming in Java
Data engineering and architecture experience
Experience developing programs that leverage external APIs with a strong understanding of leading practices.
